PRIVACY POLICY
1 INTRODUCTION
This document sets out the privacy policy of Twelve Pixel Pty Ltd (ACN 670 579 432) trading as CoHire (referred to in this privacy policy as ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’). We operate an online marketplace (Platform) that connects Owners, being users who list tools and equipment for hire, with Hirers, being users who hire those items. Each hire arranged through the Platform is a Booking. Terms like Owner, Hirer, Listing and Booking have the same meaning as in our Platform Terms & Conditions.
We take our privacy obligations seriously and we've created this privacy policy to explain how we collect, store, maintain, use and disclose personal information.
We are committed to preventing serious invasions of privacy and ensuring the protection of your personal information, so you can contact us using the details below if you have any questions or concerns.
For the purposes of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), we treat ourselves as an APP entity and handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By providing personal information to us, you consent to our storage, maintenance, use and disclosure of personal information in accordance with this privacy policy.
We may change this privacy policy from time to time by posting an updated copy on the Platform and we encourage you to check the Platform regularly to ensure that you are aware of our most current privacy policy.

3 PERSONAL INFORMATION OF MINORS
The Platform is only for use by individuals aged 18 years or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18 in connection with an Account. If we become aware that we hold personal information about a person under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete it, unless we are required or permitted by law to retain it.
4 HOW WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may collect personal information either directly from you, or from third parties, including where you:
create an Account;

message another User;
complete phone, identity or payout verification;
make a payment, or save a payment method, through Stripe;

We may also collect personal information from you when you use or access the Platform, including through web analytics tools, 'cookies' or other similar tracking technologies that allow us to track and analyse Platform usage. Cookies are small files that store information on your computer, mobile phone or other device and enable the creator of the cookie to identify when you visit different websites.
5 USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We collect and use personal information for the following purposes:
to operate the Platform;
to create and manage Accounts, Listings, Bookings, messaging and reviews;
for identity verification and fraud prevention;
to process payments, payouts, refunds and authorised additional charges;
to manage disputes and, where applicable, Owner Platform Support;
to manage chargebacks and provide payment evidence to Stripe or financial institutions;

for analytics and to improve and optimise the Platform; and
to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements with Users.
6 AI
CoHire may use AI tools to suggest listing titles, descriptions and pricing, and to assist with content moderation and customer support.
If you choose to use an AI-assisted feature, the content you provide for that purpose (for example, a photo or draft description) may be sent to and processed by an AI provider so that it can return a suggestion or response.
Because that content is under your control, please do not enter sensitive personal information into a listing field, note, or support message unless necessary.
AI-generated suggestions are suggestions only. They are not a valuation, and not legal, financial or safety advice, and you remain responsible for reviewing and approving any content before it is used.
7 PAYMENT DATA
Payments and payouts on the Platform are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores payment details, such as card or digital wallet information, in accordance with Stripe's own privacy policy and applicable card scheme rules.
CoHire does not store your full card number. We store references such as a Stripe customer ID and payment method identifiers.
Where you have agreed to this under our Platform Terms & Conditions, we may use these references to charge your saved payment method for a Booking and for authorised additional charges, such as damage, loss, non-return, late fees or cancellation fees.
8 DISCLOSURE
We may disclose your personal information to:
other Users, where needed to facilitate a Listing, Booking, message or dispute (for example, so an Owner and Hirer can see each other's relevant profile and booking details);
Stripe, for payments, saved payment methods, payouts and related identity verification;
our service providers, including SMS/authentication, hosting, email, database, and analytics providers, who help us run the Platform under appropriate confidentiality and security arrangements;
AI providers, for AI-enabled listing, moderation or support features you choose to use;
our professional advisers and contractors; and
regulators, courts, law enforcement, banks and payment networks, where required or authorised by law.
9 OVERSEAS DISCLOSURE
We may disclose your personal information to cloud providers, contractors and other third parties located inside or outside Australia, including in Australia and the United States. If we do so, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that any overseas recipient has similar legal safeguards and deals with your personal information in a manner consistent with how we deal with it.
10 SECURITY
We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is secure and protected from misuse or unauthorised access. Our information technology systems are password protected, and we use a range of administrative and technical measures, including encryption in transit where used and secure payment processing through Stripe, to protect these systems. However, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.
11 LINKS
The Platform may contain links to other websites. Those links are provided for convenience and may not remain current or be maintained. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those linked websites and we suggest you review the privacy policies of those websites before using them.
12 REQUESTING ACCESS OR CORRECTING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
If you wish to request access to the personal information we hold about you, please contact us using the contact details set out in clause 14 including your name and contact details. We may need to verify your identity before providing you with your personal information. In some cases, we may be unable to provide you with access to all your personal information and where this occurs, we will explain why. We will deal with all requests for access to personal information within a reasonable timeframe.
If you think that any personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, or you wish to request that we delete your account or the personal information we hold about you, please contact us using the contact details set out in clause 14 and we will take reasonable steps to correct or delete it, except where we need to retain certain information for legal, tax, fraud prevention or dispute resolution purposes. You can also remove a saved payment method or delete a Listing yourself from within your Account, although you may not be able to remove a payment method while a Booking, dispute or payment is outstanding.
13 COMPLAINTS
If you wish to complain about how we handle your personal information or believe your privacy has been seriously invaded, please contact us using the details in clause 14 with your name and contact details. We will investigate your complaint promptly and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
